Everyone of the Transformers sequels are near incoherent. All of the Twilight films, and the matrix and hunger games sequels are soggy overlong bore fests.

Word. Troy is a very good film. One of Brad Pitt's best films. The one-on-one combats were excellent.

I disagree. It wasn't good but it wasn't unbearable. I could watch it again without the threat of physical harm to me or my loved ones that it would take to get me to rewatch most of the other stuff mentioned here.

Troy was good if you hadn't already been a fan of Greek mythology and read the Iliad. Sadly I fall into both categories and so I was very disappointed

I read 'The Iliad' and am a fan of Greek mythology too and loved this film as I know very well that Hollywood is incapable of filming a faithful version of a book. However, there was a tv miniseries Helen of Troy that aired a year before 'Troy' was released. Surprisingly THAT was more faithful than this movie. The last scenes when victorious Agamemnon orders "Bring the whore!" was damn shocking and hard to watch. I was stunned that they could do that on network television.

The Pitt-Bana fight scene alone makes Troy a highly watchable movie.

The film had the entire Trojan war occur in a matter of a couple of days. It was supposed to be a ten year war. Also Achilles hardly did anything. He killed that giant, a couple Trojans on the beach and then hector. Very disappointing. In the original story Achilles was rampaging through hundreds of coldiers and single handedly had everyone running for their lives

Plus Achilles was known for his spear - The Pelian Ash. In the film he threw a spear once.

The Oscars just didn't want to give Spielberg another Best Picture for a WW2 movie 5 years after Schindler's List (like it really should matter )
Titanic over LA Confidential and Boogie Nights was pretty bad too.

Another awful big budget movie was Batman and Robin. That was just laughable.

Ohhh shit! Good call on Batman and Robin. Yes, worst superhero ever made. So bad that it basically spelled the end of Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone as stars.

This is true actually. I for one...didn't want to see another film or TV show that involved Chris O'Donnell after that bullshit.

I remember watching Batman and Robin in the theater thinking "is this a joke?"

    It was just so bad.

Fifty Shades of Grey, just terrible too. The crowd was laughing out loud at the "serious" parts because it was just so terrible. I'm guessing the sequel is awful as well.
