I liked the Toney-Holyfield card and fight. Toney-Holyfield had its share of action, especially round 4, and Toney is fun to watch. It also had Corrales-Casamayor I on the undercard. Mayweather-Gatti wasn't all that bad, especially given the expectations I had of it, and Maussa-Harris was a surprise and an interesting fight.
Toney-Holyfield would have been a better pay per view had they put McCline-Boswell on it. It didn't help that they put Morales-Espadas II on the same night as well...neither seemed like great buys that night.
I think GAiner fought some little dude from Colombia that was giving him a good fight but was too small to pull off the upset. fucking bullshit ppv. For a while there I used to order any fucking card.:doh:
based on the first fight everyone thought the rematch would be as good or close to it. It wasn't that exciting but it wasn't bad either. ONly problem was the bullshit decision with Morales getting robbed. Even Barrera said after the fight that he would watch the tape. He couldn't even brag about winning the fight. He knew he lost. :warning:
I don't get how people were let down by this weekend's card. Yes the main event was painful to watch, but outside of Twin :: , who honestly thought the fight would play out any way other than it did? If you predicted that, and still bought the card anyway, then you had to be pleased/pleasantly surprised with what you got out of the undercard. A Fight of the Year candidate (Katsidis-Amonsot) and a bonafide rising star of tomorrow (Jorge Linares) who did a great job of dismantling a former champ. The Andrade-Muller fight was ass, but again, you knew that going in. I said this somewhere else, but will say it here: I got more value out of this card than I did out of the Mayweather-DLH event. If you felt cheated from this card, then you had unrealistic expectations of how the main event would turn out.
Agreed. The only letdown people can have is if they really expected Winky to just come forward and win the fight with more activity...but that's their own fault for misleading themselves. Hopkins wasn't going to play along with that. The card served as a great introduction for both Katsidis and Linares to the American public. The only problem is the undercard (minus Andrade's workout session) was 3/4 of the BAD card HBO had already planned months ago before scrapping it when Guzman pulled out.
Love U 2,TWIN:: ... Now Stomp REED's OTHER Testicle,so Neither of them R JEALOUS...Mike Tyson Style... REED::
Can't remember the last time I was foolish enough to fork over that kind of money for a good one, much less a bad one. Whether good or bad, they're simply not worth it. You're basically paying a 1 month cable bill for a 2 hour show that might suck. Join my bandwagon today, or invest in PM's, either choice could save you thousands in the near future. ::
