    People talk about Fury and how "all he has is size"....well that's all Nelson really had. A big awkward oaf who lost all his early title shots cos he couldn't really box, got out of jail with the cheap stoppage vs Thompson who had taken his best and wasn't going away......then had the most outrageous run of title "defences" against people like Willard Lewis {finished his career 17-23} George Arias, Adam Watt, Sione Asipeli etc.

    Nelson was a fucking sham.

    Sit thru this and I will give you a medal.

    Nelson was shit. He literally had size speed and goofy southpawedness and fought guys made for him. If they weren't made for him, they beat his ass. He was shit.

    That whole gym turned out some very very good fighters with mixed results, Naz, Kell Brook, Ryan Rhodes, Herol Graham....but Nelson was the worst of them by far. He looked like a guy who was trying to be like them and it just didn't work out. He made a load of defences against utter crap.

    Remember when Nelson called out Mike Tyson after one of his shitty defences? :Jest::Jest:

    Strong, strong contender for most tedious fighter ever to watch. I remember Sky Sports had this whole breaking news thing covering Johnny Nelson after Haye knocked out Maccarinelli, because Nelson said "Haye is the only man who could get me out of retirement", like he was some Mayweather-esque superstar or something :Jest:. The whole thing was bizarre, Sky Sports were really trying to push it for this entire day. Thank fuck that came to nothing.
