Broner isn't active enough to beat Khan, and is unwilling to press the action. Khan peppers him all night long
Broner-Khan's a 50-50 Fight to REED... Broner HASN'T Shown a HIGH Aptitude for Coping w/Guys that Make him THINK...Maidana Kept Drilling Broner w/the Same Shot, Over and Over...Broner had a TOUGHER than Expected Time w/Malignaggi as Well.... Hell, If Malignaggi Had ANY Offensive Wherewithal or FIREPOWER, he'd have Likely EEKED Out a Decision Win Over Broner... Broner's a DELIBERATE Fighter w/an Economical Workrate...Khan Typically Starts FAST...There's a STRONG Possibility Broner Would NEED a KO to Avoid his 2nd Consecutive Decision LOSS... Intriguing Fight for Sure... REED:hammert:
I pick Khan over Broner. Broner is shit, with low activity, and not much power at 147. Khan by decisive, flurry filled, button mashing decision victory.
i see no way khan would take the fight on the may undercard. he'd be better off taking what brook offered
Khan Definitely SHOULDN'T Allow Floyd to Dictate a Fight to him that he WON'T Be Involved In...Fuck That... Since Khan was ALREADY in the Mayweather Sweepstakes, his "Job" is to KEEP Himself IN that Mix...He DOESN'T have to Fight who Floyd WANTS him to Fight, to Do that... REED:nono:
Yeah, and if he fights Broner & beats him (which I give him a 50/50 shot of doing as well), there's no guarantee Floyd would honor his word. He'd go back on it in a heartbeat & be all "besides Broner, who have Khan beat? Like I said before, I already beat the guy [Maidana] who beat the guy who Khan beat"
khan is hoping he can hang around until there are no other more worthy opponents coming directly off quality, impressive wins vs name opponents(a trademark of who mayweather jr has fought, more times than not dating back the past 5 years) khan may not fight a live body for another year
Can You BLAME Him???... After Floyd Latched Onto Ortiz & Guerrero for Beating Andre Berto, the FLOODGATES Opened...Then, Out of Nowhere, Maidana SWOOPED in & Took What Seemed like a SECURE Date from Under Khan's Feet... Floyd's the Prizefighting Equivalent of the LOTTERY...He's OBVIOUSLY Leaning Towards Latin Fighters, Based on his Fight Dates, but Unless Cotto BEATS Sergio Martinez &/or Angulo BEATS Canelo, Floyd WILL Need a Khan Level Opponent for his September Date... So It BEHOOVES Khan to MAINTAIN his Position & Given his SHITTY Ass Chin, he's Gonna Have to Dig Towards the BOTTOM of the Barrel, to Keep his Spot Intact, in the Meantime... REED:mj:
I'm not a boxing promoter (after nine years, I feel the time is now right to reveal that).....but Khan-Mayweather in London really makes allot of sense to me. That would be a big stadium event and if the start time was pushed back to make it US friendly i'd be surprised if it hurt US PPv sales either. UK payper view sales would make up for any shortfall, at least.
If Mayweather (or basically any star American fighter) could make more money in Europe they would fight there more often. I don't know how it breaks down but clearly gate revenue isn't nearly as important as the other things Vegas provides. There's likely more hands in the pockets taking stuff off the top when all is said in done whereas boxers probably have a better idea what they bring home at the end of the night. The U.S. has massive stadiums of there own and super fights rarely take place in them.
I guess. If he fights in the UK I can go watch him though - I'm not sure he's taken that into account. He's got his priorities all wrong.
For big promoters the live gate is nothing but "nice extra", the actual money comes from TV. Of course, anyone will take 20 000 viewers over 1000, but a TV fight with no viewers is better than 50 000 crowd without TV. Thus, the question is not usually if Khan vs Malignaggi (for example) gets more live viewers in UK or USA, but whether or not the whole card (TV usually doesn't want to show just one fight but needs at least three in most countries) gets so many more live viewers in the UK - in lower ticket prices - that TV company profits from carrying all of its stuff (and that is not cheap) overseas, does all the advertising there and has to either make or show the fight in a weird time. The same with stadium fights: usually the TV coverage is so much cheaper to make, the betting much more frequent, in Vegas casinos that the added crowd doesn't make the money back
Obviously he won't do this because he only fights in Vegas, but he would make an insane amount of money fighting Khan in the UK. Hell, even in Vegas, a lot of British fans would make the trip
and he'd have to pay khan more than he's paying maidana or guerrero or guys like that. the tv money isnt the thing holding mayweather jr back from fighting outside of vegas. its the site fee MGM pays
Plus Floyd would get that same football-fan attention that he has always craved. He saw how Hatton got that and wanted some of it. He'll get it in spades in London and will pull a Duran vs Moore on it too. They'll be there to see him. Floyd will cry like he never has before.
Qwerty is like "the phantom." One may go by the wayside but another one gets the keyboard....er I mean ring.
