several YEARS ago... First off, I had the Maidana/Khan fight a draw... Secondly, Maidana has deifnitely improved since then and has racked up his best wins... Khan, since then, has lost twice (including being KHTFO of him habba han haa hah habba) and barely scraped by a guy who was a fringe contender at lightweight more than a decade ago... His other win was a tepid decision over a scrub

A lot has changed since they fought, they have gone in totally different directions, making the original bout essentially irrelevant in relation to this matchup

 

I don't remember Floyd as 'toying' with Chavez. The judges all gave him rounds, too, so they saw it the way i remember it.

 

Khan lost to the guy who is now the number one at 140. Maidana beat a guy who was never all that to begin with.

 

If Floyd does ever decide to fight Khan, you'll see I'm right. Speed schmeed, you need a bit of craftiness and unpredictability to compete with Floyd. Or a lot of aggression and strength.

Khan will get clowed.

 

I think Floyd would deliberately start slow & Khan might win the first round but it'd be an illusion - Floyd would just be measuring, scoping out his button mash patterns. I don't think it'd go 6 rounds, Floyd would counter the bejesus out of him with short hooks. Target practice.

Pretty much how I see it. Most 1st rounds with Floyd are him sizing up his opponent. I could see Khan winning round 1 on workrate alone as he flurries his way to bolivian.

But come round 2 he starts to get clowned, no doubt in my mind, Khan wins no more than the first round.

Different order of talent...totally...Madianna has no real footwork, he is tough and likable and can hit hard but is easily avoided...Brnner is such an idiot that he literally travelled a straight line back and was still going back to avoid the first punch as he got hit

 

ABsolutely. I mean there is playing it safe and then there is ridiculous. And Floyd does not give two shits about Bronner, he just saw that easy money and acted like he was considering the other fight....Let me tell you something: The minute Madianna became available floyd was going for that fight...he just had to make it seem like he was conflicted.

 

How about this? Bronner got the nod when he lost 3 times...he was an unproven fighter who talked a good game and a solid B level guy kicked his ass. Nothing else imo needs to be said about Bronner. he lost to Ponce, he arguably lost to at least one more guy and being that Malignaggi was the champ he should not have gotten the nod in that fight necessarily, though it could have gone either way.
