Disney Animation Zootopia easily remained at the top of the North American box office with an estimated $51 million weekend gross. The critically acclaimed animated film (an unheard 99% certified fresh at RT!!!) has grossed $140 million domestically and $431 million worldwide. In China alone it set a new record of $25 million on its first day. Will it reach 'Frozen' numbers? maybe or maybe not. It depends on long it remains at the top five worldwide.

Debuting in the second place is the also universally praised thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane from producer J.J. Abrams with a smashing $25.2 million. While that is way lower than Cloverfield's $40 million opening, lets keep in mind that (a) this is not a sequel, prequel or for that matter a monster movie (yes, you read that right) as this is basically a psychological thriller set mostly inside a small shelter room with only three characters and (b) it cost only dimes to produce. Abrams tossed the Cloverfield reference just to bring attention to a film that might have otherwise ended straight to DVD under a different title. He is a genius, but those that went expecting a monster movie will be disappointed.

Deadpool remained in the third spot with $10.8 million bringing its domestic cume to $328 million and surpassing the domestic grosses of 'Man of Steel', 'Iron-Man' & 'Iron-Man 2'. And before the week is over it might have taken 'Guardians of The Galaxy' & 'Spider-Man 3' total domestic grosses. Right now it is the tenth most successful comicbook adaptation ever. Its worldwide gross right now stands at $708 million and counting.

London Has Fallen slides to the fourth spot with $10.6 million. The actioner has grossed $38.8 million and still has a long way to go before it can recoup its investment.

Tina Fey's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is in the #5 spot with $4.6 million. The $35 million comedy has grossed just $14 million to date.

Three new releases bombed in their debuts:
The Perfect Match was no so perfect as it didn't match with audiences taking a mere $4.1 million.
Focus Features tried to lure 'Risen' demographics, but failed with The Young Messiah which took only $3.4 million from 1'761 screens. No one is interested in the 'Phantom Menace' version of the Christ.
And the biggest bomb from the newcomers is Sacha Baron Cohen's The Brothers Grimsby which landed in the 8th spot with $3.1 million. Oh, Borat, how low have thee fallen!
